Choosing Your Wedding Photographer for your wedding day is critical because it is important that you feel comfortable with their style and personality. On the day, your Wedding Photographer will be with you closely, albeit discreetly, capturing every special moment. The images created are incredibly valuable, they will be with you forever so you need to put 100% trust in your Wedding Photographer – but how do you do that without really knowing them?
For most people, their Wedding Photographer is as important as choosing the dress and the venue. It’s a big investment and in my view, one which shouldn’t be taken lightly. As with buying a house, most people take some time to ensure they get it right. It’s no different when choosing the right Wedding Photographer.
Any Wedding Photographer who offers a complimentary engagement shoot is very serious about ensuring their couples are comfortable with their investment. Not only does it provide a perfect way to ‘try before you buy’, it also provides the perfect opportunity for the couple to get to know their Wedding Photographer before the big day, and vice versa.
An engagement shoot provides physical proof of the quality of the Wedding Photographer and their work, which if done properly, will capture the fun, romance and love that a couple both have in real life, separate from their wedding day.
Meet Steve and Christine. I captured their engagement photos near their Surrey home and before their Manchester Town Hall Wedding followed by their reception at Great John Street Hotel.
Many of my clients pick one of their favourite images for ‘save the date’ cards, invitations or thank you notes. Others update photo frames at home or another nice touch is to use one of the images on their wedding day on the front of the guest book or a signature board, just as Steve and Christine did.
As a Wedding Photographer thoroughly enjoying spending time with my clients, this blog is just a taste of some of the complimentary engagement photographs that I have captured before photographing my couples on their wedding day. It’s a lovely way for them to take time out from the stress of planning their special day and focus on themselves and their love for each other.
This is Steve and Cat in Salford Quays, Manchester. A location close to their hearts and is where they first dated so a natural location to choose for their complimentary engagement shoot with me.
This is Anthony and Joanna at Millennium Park in Davyhulme, next to the Manchester Ship Canal near where Anthony grew up. As we walked from the car park, I quickly learned this was the first time in some while that they were having a childfree morning. A luxury for many young parents to be alone and I was keen they made the most of it. We spent a wonderful hour or so together and hopefully the fun and romantic photos speak for themselves.
I would welcome the opportunity to receive your wedding day enquiry, have a chat and then meet you for your complimentary engagement shoot and deliver beautiful engagement photographs like these, to you xx
